York’s city environment provides a balance of academic engagement and social activities, with opportunities for nightlife and diverse experiences. Moreover, living on campus presents you with the chance to build connections, develop friendships, and maximize your university journey through immersive learning and community engagement.
The campus is packed with places to eat and drink and caters for a diverse range of dietary requirements. There is also access to convenience stores, where you can pick up your groceries and essentials.
The university is situated just outside York city centre, and everything is within walking or cycling distance. You can also use the fast and frequent bus service that runs between both parts of campus and on to the city centre and station, or hire an e-scooter or e-bike to whisk you into town. York is one of the UK*s most cycle-friendly cities and there are plenty of cycle racks on campus.
Additionally, the International Students* Association (ISA) is a student group at the university which exists to represent international students’ interests, run social events and offer support.
